Solar radiation is an element of climate / weather that will affect the state of the
main elements of the climate / weather other. Current meteorological instrument
used by weather observers to record the sun's radiant energy from sunrise to
sunset, which Actinograph Bi – Metal. Since the results of the data recording
device is still a analog data, the authors designed a solar intensity gauges using
LM35 temperature sensor which is then processed with the help of a computer so
the results in the form of digital data. The basic principle of working of solar
radiation digital gauges are measuring the temperature values are on a slab of
black colored body with a white colored objects. With the Stefan – Boltzmann
equation approaches the value of solar radiation can be determined by measuring
the temperature at the two objects ( black and white ). Temperature values of the
two objects will be converted to frequency using LM331 IC VFC circuit
alternately or one by one which is governed by a series of multichannel IC 4017.
Once the data is in the form of frequencies processed first in a series of binary
counter IC 4020 and ready to read on a computer via USB Joypad. The data is
displayed in graphical form and saved to a hard drive or flasdisk media on your
computer. Measuring and recording program application made in this study can
detect two variable, the intensity of solar radiation and duration of the sunshine.
Analysis of the results obtained, the measurement is automatically tend to have a
characteristic change in the amount of sensor output that is proportional to the
value of physical change in the weather elements. It can be seen from the
observations using conventional sensors with digital.
