dc.description.abstract | The aim of this study was to find out the effect of addition and usage duration of Origanum vulgare essential oil on surface roughness of auto-polymerized silicone soft denture liner. The type of this research was laboratory experimental with post test only control group design. The samples of this study was auto-polymerized silicone soft denture liner with a diameter of 15 mm and thickness of 10 mm. Total samples of this study were 40 samples (n=40) divided into 8 groups (n=5). The groups without antifungal agent addition (control), nystatin addition, and Origanum vulgare essential oil 3,125% addition were storaged in incubator at 37°C for 1 day and 7 days. Meanwhile the samples of sodium hypoclorite 0,5% immersion, the samples immersed in distilled water and stored in the incubator of 370 ± 20 C for 24 hours as a simulation of oral cavity. Furthermore, the samples immersed in sodium hypoclorite 0,5% for 15 minutes and 105 minutes. Measurement of surface roughness was tested using Profilometer. The mean value and standard deviation of surface roughness in each group was analyzed by using univariant test. The effect of Origanum vulgare essential oil 3,125% addition based on usage duration was analyzed by using one way ANOVA test and Kruskal Wallis test, the effect of usage duration in each group was analyzed by using Wilcoxon test and Paired-T test. | en_US |
