dc.description.abstract | This type of research is an experimental laboratory with a post-test only control group design. The research sample was 25 premolars that had been extracted and obtained from a dental practice in the city of Medan that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria and were divided into 5 groups with different types of immersion solution, namely group A (artificial saliva), group B (chlorhexidine), group C. (mobe leaf extract 3.125%), group D (mobe leaf extract 6.25%), and group E (mobe leaf extract 12.5%). The teeth that have been bonded with orthodontic brackets are immersed in each immersion solution for 6 hours. Test the bonding strength of the bracket using the Universal Testing Machine. The data obtained is in the form of load in kgf (kilogram force) which is then converted into Newton units. The data that has been obtained were then analyzed using one-way ANOVA and posthoc LSD statistical tests.
Based on the results of the one-way ANOVA test, it showed that there was no significant difference in shear strength between the treatment groups with p value = 0.138> 0.05. The results showed that the shear strength was not statistically affected by the type and concentration of the immersion solution. The results of the LSD follow-up test showed that the group that had a significant difference in shear strength was the salivary group with Mobe 3.125% (p = 0.03 0.05), and between the Mobe group 3.125% and Mobe 6.25% (p = 0, 02 0.05). In addition, there was no significant difference between them (p>0.05).
Mobe (Artocarpus lakoocha) leaf ethanol extract did not significantly affect the shear strength of the metal bracket attachment. The difference in the concentration of the ethanol extract of mobe leaves (Artocarpus lakoocha) did not have a significant effect on the shear strength of the metal bracket attachment. | en_US |
