Unoccupied flight seat on a departure might be faced by an airline company,
which is the important problem that have to be solved. In airline industry there is a
terminology known as Revenue Management, it is about how to manage a
business in order to avoid loss revenue. This research discuss about how to
optimize the seat allocation to every class of ticket at the selling period. It is
expected that the optimal seat allocation will imply the revenue of selling ticket to
be optimal too. To set the optimal seat allocation, one of heuristic methods which
is known as Expected Marginal Seat Revenue (EMSR) and Dynamic
Programming is used. The data used represent the candidate of customer comes at
the selling period and willing to buy ticket that airline company offered. The
result of this research shows that seat allocation to ticket class V, T, Q, N, K, M,
B, Y, D, C, and J is 11, 13, 15, 14, 12, 10, 8, 5, 4, 3, 1, with expected seat
occupation or the probability of all allocation seat will be sold is 98,888%.
