dc.description.abstract | The manufacture of NdFeB magnetic powder type MQ-A and FeMn as the base material for
making permanent magnets. The process of making NdFeB magnetic material powder with
FeMn additive powder. Variations of FeMn addition were performed with a 0.5: 1: 3: 5: and
10 wt% additive composition. Powdered NdFeB / FeMn using HEM with toluene medium
and 10: 1 gram ratio of powder and powder. The milling time with HEM is set by 15 minutes
and 30 minutes. Preparation of NdFeB / FeMn bonded magnets using compacts with cylinder
molds with a diameter of 2 cm and a print pressure of 310 MPa for 3 minutes. With the
addition of 3 wt% of epoxy resin and 2 drops of catalyst as adhesive and drying agent.
Samples that have been printed then dicuring with under vacuum dryer with temperature
1500C for 2 hours with a pressure of 10 mbar. The tested characteristics include physical
properties of density, crystal structure using X-Ray Diffractometer and magnetic properties
using Gaussmeter and Vibrating Sample Magnetometer. Observation of microstructure with
Scanning Electron Microscope. Analysis of particle size of powder with Particle Analyzer
Analysis. The results showed that the addition of 5 wt% FeMn on NdFeB powder 30 minutes
mined increased the product energy value (BH-Max). Value of BH max = 4.11 MGOe, Hc =
1.73 kOe, Mr = 26.26 emu / g and Ms = 93.11 emu / g. The highest magnetic flux value of
441.4 Gauss was obtained at the addition of 5 wt% FeMn with 30 minutes milling. | en_US |
