Abstract

This article is entitled Home Improvement Program for the Poor. This study aims to determine the process of implementing the construction of the house renovation program and the implementation of distributing assistance to the house renovation program to the poor. In addition, this research was conducted to see the community's response to the house renovation program implemented by the government. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach. This type of research is a case study. This research is analytical-descriptive in the form of written words or direct quotations from the informants. In addition, researchers used data collection techniques in the form of observations made to observe and see the phenomena that occur at the research location. The researcher also conducted an in-depth interview method by asking several questions related to the title of the thesis submitted, this is important to do as a source to obtain information from the beneficiaries of the housing renovation program. The results of this study explain that implementation as a means of overcoming poverty, one of which is by providing a house renovation program for uninhabitable houses. In the house renovation program policy stipulated by the government that the people who are entitled to receive assistance are low-income people, the condition of the house is that the roof is made of tepas, thatch, the floor is still in the form of soil, and the walls are still using bamboo gedehk boards.
