Pengaruh Penerapan Metode 5S oleh Kepala Ruangan terhadap Perencanaan Logistik di Rumah Sakit Imelda Pekerja Indonesia Medan

Abstract

5S work attitude is the attitude possessed by an employee in determining the selection of stuffs in the work place, structuring, cleaning, maintaining work environment condition, and employees' habit which are needed for performing good work. One of the important components which cause recovery is health equipment. The objective of the research was to identify the influence of the application of 5S method of the ward heads on Logistic Planning at Imelda Pekerja Indonesia Hospital. This quantitative research used quasi experimental method with one goup pretest-posttest design. The population was 17 ward heads, and all of them were used as the samples. The sampling technique was total sampling. The results showed that the application of 5S method had some influence on the logistic planning in which the Mc Nemar test for the functions of planning, storage and control was 0.004 and for the maintenance function was 0.002. There were some differences in the war heads' logistic planning after applying 5s method before and after the intervention. Before the intervention, 9 respondents (53 %) had poor planning function, 9 respondents (53 % had poor storage function, 10 respondents (59 %) had poor equipment maintenance, 9 respondents (53 %) had bad equipment maintenance. After the intervention, the implementation of 55 method of ward heads' logistic planning which included planning function, storage function, maintenance function, and control function of all respondents, increased to 100%. The result of the observation showed that there were some ward heads that did not carry out choosing the need for equipment according to the application of 5S method. There were some nurses who did not clean the equipment right after being used to the patients and did not store it in the places according to their labels. It is recommended that the ward heads increase logistic planning by carrying out their primary mission so that the planning can run optimally according to the procedure, and equipment can be provided effectively and efficiently.
