dc.description.abstract | Parenting is a process, a way of fostering and perfecting or efforts of actions and
activities carried out to obtain better results so that the children in the orphanage
are more focused according to the applied parenting pattern. This research was
conducted at the sion Orphanage in Central Tapanuli. This study aims to
determine the pattern of parenting carried out by caregivers in the formation of
children's social behavior and social behavior of children around the orphanage.
The method used is a qualitative descriptive study approach. Data collection
techniques were carried out by means of observation, documentation, in-depth
interviews. The sion Orphanage is very different from other orphanages, they are
guided by the teachings of Christianity by teaching spiritual things to equip
children to accept and be grateful for the things they receive from God. There are
different types of care for orphans such as authoritarian parenting, democratic
parenting, and permissive parenting. The application of a very dominant
parenting pattern is applied at the Zion Orphanage for the Authoritarian Aspiring
Pattern so that it is more open between the child and the caregiver and the child
is more independent in terms of their duties and responsibilities, and they are also
more receptive to the teachings of the caregivers. The social behavior of the
orphanage children is only seen when they do activities outside the orphanage
such as mutual assistance and spiritual visits and during school activities. The
success in the care that is applied creates positive things where they are already
accepted in a decent work place. And have a positive impact on the orphanage.
