    Abstract
Total parentral nutrition (TPN) is one of the sterile products which containing carbohydrates, protein, lipids, vitamins, minerals is administrated intravenously. Administrating TPN and catheter non aseptic would cause bacterial contamination. The presence of bacteria in the blood neonates is called neonatorum sepsis. Neonatal sepsis is an infection that occurs in infants in the first 28 days after birth. Neonaturom Sepsis is categorized as early-onset sepsis and late onset sepsis. The purpose of this research is to know the process of granting and installation TPN catheter, bacteria and the largest factor causing neonatal sepsis in preterm neonates in the General Hospital Haji Adam Malik This study is performed observational and prospectively to identify risk factors and bacterial causing of neonatal sepsis in preterm neonates in the delivery and use of total parenteral nutrition catheters hospitalized Division of Perinatology General Hospital Haji Adam Malik, on November 2014 - April 2015. Determination of bacteria on TPN and catheter is tested in the Microbiology laboratory Faculty of Medicine USU with differentiation method and antibiotic sensitivity test use the agar diffusion method. The results of the data analysis, is presented with a table. The type of bacteria that are found in the process of granting aminosteril are 15% Escherechia coli 15%, Klebsiella pneumoniae 10%, Klebsiella oxytoca 5%, Candida albicans 5% and Staphylococcus epidermydis 5%, In the process of granting lipid are Klebsiella pneumoniae 15%, Escherechia coli 15%, Klebsiella oxytoca 5% and Staphylococcus aureus 5%. In the process of granting cathter are herechia coli 15%, Klebsiella pneumoniae 10%, Klebsiella oxytoca 10%, and ‘Staphylococcus aureus 5%. Antibiotic sensitivity tests is conducted on gram-negative bacteria, meropenem is most sensitive antibiotic with 75% in eliminate the bacteria that cause neonatal sepsis in Division of Perinatology General Hospital Haji Adam Malik. While in the gram-positive bacteria, ciproflokxacin and levofloxacin is most sensitive with 50%, Both gram positive and negative antibiotic amoxicillin, ampicillin, chloramphenicol are resistant with 100%.
