To improve eguity of acces and the generalization of certifiable education
service and affordable for all residents, through the formal education or other
education forms an equal, need a planning related to school location which is easily
accessible and condussive and also facilities for the creation teaching-learning
process.
The purpose of this research is to provide information about location and
facilities in Public Senior High School in Medan City by using Geographic Information System.
This research was conducted at 21 Public Senior High School in Medan City
with population at the same time sample consisted of headmaster counted 21 people.
Research variables consisted of educational resource planning which consists of
location and facilities. The collection of data by creating a questionnaire and
observation and analyzed by spatial and descriptive.
The Results showed that the location of 21 Public Senior High School in
Medan City is only spread in 15 district, still there are 6 districts which do not have a
Public Senior High School, whic is consists of Medan Amplas District, Medan Baru
District, Medan Deli District, Medan Perjuangan District, Medan Selayang District
and Medan Maimun District. The Avaibility of Public Senior High School facilities in
Medan still meet the 6 % (21 units) of the amount that should, by facilities of
generally available in good condition and still can be used. While lack of availability
of facilities for Public Senior High School as much as 94 % (327 units) can be
fulfilled by The Private Senior High School, Vocational School and Madrasah Aliyah
contained in Medan that in general the number 328 units exceeds standard
availability of Senior High School facilities in Medan City as many as 348 units,
based on population and refers to Permendiknas Number 24 in 2007.
