dc.description.abstract | Adolescents are the group most prone to experiencing problems with sleep
quality disorders because in adolescents there are dramatic changes in
sleep-wake patterns which include reduced sleep duration, delayed sleep time,
significant differences in sleep patterns on school days and holidays. Sleep is
an important part of the physical growth and intellectual development of
adolescents. Sleep will provide peace and restore energy, restore brain and
body function, and maintain survival. Teenagers need 8 to 10 hours of sleep
each night to prevent unnecessary fatigue and susceptibility to infection.
Disruption of sleep patterns in adolescents is a disorder that occurs in the
quality and quantity of a person's sleep due to external factors. One of the
efforts to control sleep in adolescents is Sleep Restriction Therapy (SRT).
Nursing care for adolescents with sleep disorders was carried out to 5
adolescents in Kec. Binjai Timur Binjai City on 27 June-23 July 2022 with the
implementation of Sleep Restriction Therapy (SRT). The results showed that
adolescent sleep disorders decreased, where the percentage of adolescents
who had sleep disorders was 100% before therapy and after sleep restriction
therapy, adolescent sleep pattern disorders decreased to 20%. The results of
the t-test showed that there were significant differences in adolescent sleep
disorders before and after the application of sleep restriction therapy (SRT),
namely Sig. (2- tailed ) 0.013 (p<0.05). So it can be concluded that Sleep
Restriction Therapy (SRT) is very influential in reducing sleep pattern
disorders in adolescents. It is recommended for teenagers to continue to do
Sleep Restriction Therapy (SRT) on an ongoing basis to get the maximum
quality and quantity of sleep. | en_US |
