Research has been conducted on the nickel coating on low carbon steel DIN ST 37 with the method of electroplating. In this research was tested about hardness, thickness, corrosion and observed microstructure. Nickel coating on low carbon steel is varied on current; 4; 5; 6; 7, and 8 Amp, maximum hardness 1212.897 MPa at 8 Amp current, maximum thickness of 0.058 mm at 8 Amp current, the corrosion rate at each NaCl (3%), H2SO4 (20%), in water and air, the nickel coating on low carbon steel is best used in air than in water, NaCl solution (3%) and H2SO4 (20%), in the current 8 Amp with corrosion rate of 0.00168 mm / year. Microstructure of low carbon steel is ferrite and pearlite.en_US
