Muhammadiyah Sorik Primary School is the exertion work of
Muhammadiyah and it was independently established by Muhammadiyah Ranting
Sorik. School building, teachers salary and operational cost totally is the
responsibilities of Muhammadiyah Ranting -Sorik, without funding from
government and Pimpinan Pusat Muhammadiyah. This school still exist from
1941 untill today with creativity and good management of Muhammadiyah Sorik.
The existence of this school has gave a big contribution for people, a poor people
and anyone may studied at this school with a cheaper cost, even an orphan may
get free from school fee. All of that phenomena make the writer interested to
know more about the working of Social Capital in this school management.
The research was held on Sorik Village, Batang Angkola Distric, South
Tapanuli Regents, North Sumatera. This research is a descriptive research with
qualitative method, and that is mean there is no hypothesis. The writer only
describe the data that found in research field, make some interpretation of data,
and than analyse the data.
Management of Muhammadiyah Primary School is affected by the using
of sosial capital. Some of social capital elements that found in research field was :
1. Trust (honesty, egality, generousity), 2. Social network (participation,
solidarity, cooperation), 3. Institution (value, regulation). The writer has found
two source of social capital : 1. Muhammadiyah organization as a primary social
· capital, and 2. Cultural value system as a second (back up) of social capital. The
synergy of this two system made the work of social capital usefull. Actually,
Muhammadiyah has a very big potence in social capital in their own organization,
because they has have a good institution and social network. And they can make it
as a resources to build more school, of cource concern to build quality over
quantity.
