Analisis Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Permintaan Tenaga Kerja di Sumatera Utara

Abstract

The problern of the labow have to get an attention totally and in wrought because one of the most important factor in economic development is the avalability of the employment which is supported by pre-eminent human reso,.,rce.ihe aim of this reserch is to lnow about the changes of the labour demand in North Sumatera which are caused by the real wages, productivity and investmert. The variable that are used in this reseuch are the real wages variable, invesment and productivity. This research uses the statistical data in the form of secondary data for the year of 1985-2005 with the doubled linear regression analyse methode or Ordinary Least Square (OLS) The result of the research shows that real wages, productivity and invesment at a time have an effect to the dernand of the labou in North Sumatera But by parsial, only the productivity variable having an effect to the &mand of the labour in North Sumatera. By the result of the estimation from each, every veriabel shows the suitable direction with the hlpothesis in which the real wages have a negative effect to the labour demand (not sigpificant), productivity have a positive effect (significant) and invesment have a negative effect (not significant). It also gives 68.30 percent influence and the rest of the 31.7 percent which are determined by other variables that are not include in this modeUresearch. The Govemment of North Sumatera are expected to be able to take a right policy especially to overcome the labour of the productivity problem and invesment are more uppermost to the capital based invesment in which lessening the used of the labour in North Sumatera.
