dc.description.abstract | This fossil fuel power plant has a bad impact on the environment, such as climate change and the depletion of fossil fuel reserves. The utilization of biomass has the potential to be used as a renewable alternative energy source. Bio-oil is obtained from the slow pyrolysis process, where the bio-oil that has been obtained the fuel will be directly mixed with Diesel motor fuel (Dexlite). The content of the mixed bio-oil will be 30% bio-oil, 70% dexlite (Biopiro30) and 50% bio-oil, and 50% dexlite (Biopiro50). Biopiro30 and Biopiro50 will be used in Diesel motors as alternative fuels. The largest content of bio-oil is Phenol, which is 35%. In terms of performance tests, effective power, torque, and generator efficiency, for Biopiro30, Biopiro50, and Dexlite are the same, only the loading differs. The specific fuel consumption value of Biopiro50 is 741.1 g/kWh, outperforming Biopiro30 whose fuel consumption value is 799.6 g/kWh for a load of 800 W. The thermal efficiency of Biopiro50 is 8.81%, outperforming Biopiro30 which is only 7.2%. From the test results, Biopiro30 and Biopiro50 have been able to balance the dexlite from all the tests carried out. For further research, it is hoped that there will be modifications to the motor, such as increasing compression in the combustion chamber. need further research on bio pyro storage.
