dc.description.abstract | Total Quality Management is a program implemented by Quality Control
Circle in a company. The objective of that program is to improve quality
,.;ontinuously. There are factors influencing implementation of Total Quality
Management,which is management commitment, employer involvement, education,
team-cooperation, quality measurement and prevent errors in job. Those factors
must be considered by Quality Control Circle in order to achieve company's goal.
The research problem is what factors influencing the implementation of Iota!
Quality Management in Sari Mutiara Hospital Medan. This research intend to
analyze factors that influencing the ir1plementation of Total Quality Management
in Sari Mutiara Hospital Medan and to analyze what factor~ that significantly
influence implementation of Total Quality Management in Sari Mutiara Hospital
Medan.
This research based on the theory of Total Quality Management that rehted
on factors influencing of implementation of Total Quality Management, which is
management commitment, employer involvement, education, team-cooperation,
quality measurement and prevent errors in job.
The model of research used in this research is quantitative-descriptive model.
Type of research is case study sup?orted by census and explanatory study.
Population in this research is respondents that have grouped in Quality Control
Circle are 51 respondents that have participated in this research. Data have been
collected by sending questioners to respondents. Researcher has also interviewed
the respondents and has collected data from company documentation, werr
measured by using rating scale.
Statistic software is SPSS Ver 12,00. F-test and t-test is conducted to predict
the effect of independent variable on dependent variable at confident level 95 % ( a
= 0,05).
Results of concurrent test (F-test) have shovred •!$ that management
commitment, employee involvement, education, team cooperation, quality
measurement, and preventing errors had s:gnifo.:ant effect on implementation of
Total Quality Management in Sari Mutiara Hospital Medan. Results of partial test
(t-test) has showed us that management commitment, employer involvement,
education, team-cooperation had significant affects on implementation of Total
Quality Management. Employee involvement is significantly affecting on the
implementation of Total Quality Management. Quality measurement and preventing
errors haven't had signifit:ar.t effect on the implementation of Total Quality
Management. The coeffici~nt of determination (R-square) has st.owed 53,8 % of
implementation of Total Quality Management can be explained by independent
variables, meanwhile 46,2 % explained by other independent Variable not in
