dc.description.abstractA program for simulation of advection equation solving by using MATLAB R2009b (version 7.9.0.529) was composed. Simulation be done with FTCS and Lax-Wendroff method for known about stability methods at advection equation solving that it was a fluid pollutant transport equation. Parameters that involve were speed of fluid flow (v), domain size (L), time step and grid point. The initial value was Gaussian function and using periodic boundary condition. The result of simulation was plotted in amplitude wave versus position and time. From the plot, shown that Lax-Wendroff method was stable at maximum time step till small time step. FTCS method was not stable for all time step.en_US
