Non-communicable diseases are a trend and a current health issue, one of which is hypertension. Hypertension is referred to as The Silent Killer (silent killer), because sufferers do not know they have hypertension to cause serious health problems and even death. Hypertension or high blood pressure is a condition where the systolic blood pressure is ≥140 mmHg and the diastolic pressure is ≥90 mmHg. One of the efforts to control blood pressure in hypertensive patients is to adopt a healthy lifestyle and comply with taking medication. Management of diet, physical activity, consumption of fruits, not smoking, maintaining sleep patterns and adherence to taking regular medication are effective for controlling blood pressure as an effort to prevent complications of hypertension. The purpose of this senior practicum is to apply nursing theories and concepts in managing and providing nursing care to people with hypertension. Clients in this senior practicum are hypertension sufferers who are in the Working Area of the Medan Sunggal Health Center. Assessment and pretest were carried out in the form of blood pressure values. Then do the post test. The results of senior practice showed that there was a change in blood pressure before that was 145 mmHg, after that was 140 mmHg. It is recommended for nurses to continue to encourage people, especially people with hypertension, to always pay attention to proper diet, do physical activity and adhere to taking medication regularly.
