Pembuatan dan Karakterisasi Beton Polimer dengan Agregat Pasir Silika dan Batu Apung Serta Limbah Ampas Teh Sebagai Filler
Abstract
Research has been carried out on polymer concrete made from a mixture of silica sand, pumice stone, tea dregs waste, and polyester resin. This research was conducted to determine the effect of adding tea dregs waste to optimal physical and mechanical properties in the manufacture of polymer concrete. Variations in aggregate composition between silica sand and pumice are (1:1) or (40:40) gr and (35:35) gr, composition variations in tea dregs waste are (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10) gr, and the variation in polyester resin is (20, 30) gr. The properties of polymer concrete analyzed were physical properties including density, porosity and water absorption, mechanical properties including flexural strength, tensile strength and impact strength as well as morphological and elemental analysis of polymer concrete using SEM – EDX. The optimum results obtained in this study are as follows: Density of 1.52 gr/cm3, porosity of 1.15%, water absorption of 0.81%, flexural strength of 28.66 MPa, tensile strength of 11.69 MPa, and the impact strength of 13,500 kJ/m2. The results of the SEM – EDX analysis using the sample composition (34: 34: 2: 30) showed that the resin distribution almost covered the entire sample surface and the composition mixture was evenly distributed
