Propanediol is producedby fermentation ofglycerolwhichis the result ofpurificationof
crudeglycerolfrombiodiesel plants. Cruedglycerolandglycerolof
purificationanalyzedthe content ofcompound. Glycerolis
fermentedbyklebsiellapneumoniae. Glycerolis fermentedwiththe addition ofvarying
thevolume ofbacteriais5,7, and10% (v/v), the fermentation timeis1, 2and3days, and
thefermentationtemperatureis 25and37o
C. The resultsoffermentationof glycerolwas
analyzed usinggas chromatographywithcolumnDB5HTtoobtain apurityof1,3-
Propanediol is generatedbased onretention timeofthe standard solution.
Crudeglycerolhas areddishbrowncolor, density is1.24g/ml, free fatty acid is26.22%,
moisture andash content are2.64 and 11%,and apurityis29.306%. Theresults ofthe
purification ofcrudeglycerolhas aclear color,density is1.2676g/ml, free fatty acid is
0.92%, moisture andash content are1.265 and 6%,and apurityis93.1924%.
Retentiontime of 1,3-Propanediol is 4.846minuteongas chromatographic analysis.
The consentration of1,3-Propanediol at1, 2and3daysis14.0963; 14.6330;
and17.6093mol/ml. The consentration of1,3-Propanedioltheaddition
ofbacterialvolume5, 7, and10% (v/v) is15.0952; 17.3287; and17.6093 mol/ml.
