dc.description.abstract | Works of literature is a media for writer to pouring and express ideas of contemplation result about meaning and nature of life experienced, felt and witnessed. As a life embodiment it means literature represents the basic problem in human life, which is for writer embodies in the form of prose, poetry, and act (drama). One of a literature work have the form of prose is novel. Novel is a form of literature work have in it cultural, social, education, and morals. Morals is a thought or benchmark, a collection of rules both verbal or lettering about how human must have live and act to be a good human being. In this dissertation the writer analyzes the moral values of amae and omoiyari contained in a novel entitled "The Traveling Cat Chronicles" by Arikawa Hiro. The method used is descriptive research method, which is a method used to analyze a research result but not used to make broader conclusions. In collecting data, the writer uses the library research by tracing the sources of the literature with reference books related to the problem to be solved. The result of this research is that there is a moral value of amae. Amae's moral value, which means spoiled, is clearly illustrated through the attitude of the characters in the novel towards Satoru. The moral value of omoiyari can be seen when Satoru helps the characters when they are in trouble, this is a representation of omoiyari morals. The conclusion of this study is that in The Traveling Cat Chronicles novel there are moral values of amae and omoiyari which can be seen from the social interactions between Satoru and the characters. | en_US |
