Bore Hole II is located on the south side apron of the airport Kualanamu that built on
sediment land with a historical normal conditions land. Which is conditions is
resulting to the soil charaeter with a low carrying eapacity and high cornpressibility.
It has been a big trouble in the construct of infrastructure construction for the
airplane, and necessary to do repairs for that. The repair method of soil improvement
preloading combined with Prefubrtcated vertical drain (PVD) was an alternative that
used in the construction of apron at Kualanamu airport. In predtcting the
characteristics of the decline due to the method aboved can be performed by various
methods such as analytical method by considering Darcy's lqw eyent unconsidering
Darcy's law and use numerical Jinik element method till to the using the Plmis
program. From the results above, it is found that the degree of consolidation from
Darcy method had a consolidation degree bias is around 8ok, bias settlement is
around 83% and the pressure excess pore water with a bias of 88?6, at 154th doys of
the cansoltdation process when ever was compared with the actual conditions
obtained from the monitoring result. Next, with nan-Darcy method had q
consolidation degree bias is aroundfrom l4o/o, settlement of bias is around 47ok and
the pressute excess water pore with a bias of 2% at l54th days of the consoltdation
process when compared with the qctual conditions was obtained from monitoring
results. And in the end with a numerical method will produce a degree of
consolidation with a bias is around 7%, settlement bias is around 7994 and the
pressure excess water pore of bias was 24%o at the 154th days the consolidation
process when compared with the actuol conditiow obtainedfrom monitortng results.
From the results of the assessment of the subject matter above was the use of
numerical methods will be more ffictive and fficient to be used to prediction the
characteristics of a settlement. Whenever it's used, it required Poisson number and
modulus elastictty of the soil data in addition of parameters common soil
investigation data especially.
