| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study to determine the effect of alkali and acid pre treatment methods on the quality and quantity of biogas which made from a mixture of water hyacinth, NaOH, starter and water by using anaerobic digesters batch system and evaluate the economic potential of biogas which produced from the mixture. The study was did by mixing the water hyacinth with NaOH in a concentration of 2,86; 3; 4; and 6,67 (M) with water mixed with cow dung starter in an anaerobic digester batch system of 2,5 L capacity. In this study the highest biogas production at NaOH concentration 6,67 M, with biogas volume 506 mL. TSS value 193 mg/L, COD 2850 mg/L, pH 6-7. For lowest biogas production at NaOH concentration 3 M, TSS value 291 mg/L, COD 4965 mg/L and biogas volume 158 mL. The economic potential of the utilization of water hyacinth, NaOH, starter and water mixture as biogas is profitable. | en_US |
