dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this research to be determined optimum temperature in the ashes production from saba banana peels. This study was initiated by pyrolysis to obtaine saba banana peel ashes (Musa paradisiaca Linn cv. 'Saba'). Pyrolysis is done by using a muffle furnace with condition saba banana peel fruit as fixed variable and the combustion temperature (450 °C, 500 °C, 550 °C and 600 °C) and the combustion time (3 hours and 5 hours) as changed variable. The content of potassium in the ashes was extracted with distilled water at the ratio of 1: 100 and steeped for 24 hours. Analysis which do is normality, pH, conductivity and K2O content by AAS method. The best results of the ashes was obtained by sample weight of 15 g is at temperature of 550 °C and time 5 hours, where the results of analysis with AAS method (Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy) was obtained K2O content is 61,80%.en_US
