dc.description.abstractActivated carbon has been fabricated with the method activation physical chemistry by mixing carbon with phosphate 15% acid solution was allowed to stand for 24 hours was followed by heating in a furnace at a temperature of 500o C to 800o C with heating time for 1 hour. This research was conducted aimed to determine the quality of activated charcoal which was influenced by the activation temperature and how active carbon absorption of the turbidity of water wells. In the analysis of activated carbon absorption to water wells, the method used was the precipitation for 2 hours with 100 mL of water ranging from 2 grams to 10 grams. Activated carbon is derived from wood sawdust mixture. From the research has been done show that activated carbon has the best characteristics of the activated carbon was activated at a temperature of 800o C and heating time for 1 hour with a water content of 11.8%, ash content7.5%, volatile matter content of 22.6%, a carbon content of 69,9% and the absorption of potassium iodide 252.2099 mg / g. Of activated carbon that has the best characteristics was used to reduce the turbidity of water wells. The results of well water turbidity adsorbed activated carbon mixed wood sawdust obtained better results than the results of turbidity adsorbed by commercial activated carbon.en_US
