    Pengaruh Molar Metanol Dengan Minyak dan Waktu Reaksi Pada Pembuatan Biodiesel dari Limbah Minyak Jelantah dengan Menggunakan Katalis Heterogen Abu Kulit Pisang Kepok

    Abstract
    Biodiesel is a fuel for diesel engines derived from renewable sources such as vegetable oils or animal fats. In this research, utilization of waste cooking oil in the prouct bodiesel that using solid catalyzed potassium oxide (K2O). Waste cooking oil is a residual oil from frying is not feasible to reuse. Heterogeneous catalyst was derived from banana peel waste that was calcined to form K2O at 550 °C for 5 hours. This study aimed to the effects of mole ratio of methanol / oil and a transesterification reaction time. The transesterification reaction were carried out at a temperature of 65 °C, the mole ratio of methanol / oil of 13: 1, 14: 1, 15: 1, 16: 1, 17: 1), reaction time of 2,3,4 hours and the catalyst loading 6 % (wt %). Biodiesel is then analyzed to obtain methyl ester content, density, viscosity and flash point. The best conditions was obtained the mole ratio of methanol / oil of 15: 1, reaction time of 3 hours, with a yield of 92.88%, methyl ester content 98.38%, density of 868.89 kg/m3 , kinematic viscosity of 5, 25 cSt and flash point of 120 °C. The results obtained in this study fullfilled the SNI 04-7182-2012. The results indicated that the waste cooking oil and banana peel ash suitable to utilize in biodiesel production.
