    Abstract
Buoyancy Weighing-Bar Method is a new method to measure particle size distribution of the settling particles and floating particles. This method can produce the high accuracy result in particle size distributions measurement with a simple operation and low-cost of equipment. In this method, Weighing-bar is hung in the suspension with different density to measure droplet size distribution. The principle of this experiment that measurement the density change in a suspension due to particle migration is measured by weighing buoyancy against a weighing bar hung in the suspension. In this experiment we focused to develop the buoyancy weighing-bar method for measure droplet size distribution in the liquid-liquid systems which is kerosene in water and we also investigate the separation time of kerosene and water with the variation of concentration between kerosene and water = 99% : 1%, 98% : 2 %, 97% : 3%, 96% : 4%, 95% : 5% and variation of rod diameter = 5mm, 10 mm, 15 mm and 20 mm. The result data obtained by the buoyancy weighing-bar method were compared with gas chromatography. The purity of water from the concentration 99% water : 1 % kerosene at 100 second is 94,9496% and at 680 second is 97,1326%. The droplet size distribution is calculated by Stokes law and Allen law. The result data obtained by the buoyancy weighing-bar method were compared with Coulter Counter method. Based on the result data obtained, the droplet size distribution which is calculated by Allen law in the concentration of water : kerosene = 99% : 1%, 98% :2 % and 95% : 5% were comparable with Coulter Counter method.
