This study aims to determine the capacity and stability of Sodium Dodecyl
Sulfate foam (SDS) continuously and dynamically to variable changes in
surfactant concentration of SDS in the presence of Cd2+ metal contaminants and
Black Coffee on foam generator. The SDS consentations used are 1x cmc, 2x
cmc and 3x cmc. The concentration variations of Cd2+ and Black Coffee used are
10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 ppm. The foam capacity measurement is done by contacting
the SDS solution and the contaminant with the N2 gas in the foam generator, on
the foam stabiitas measurements made when the foam on the foam generator has
been constant and then the foam is fed into the measuring cup for foam stability.
Result of analysis of effect of SDS concentration to foam capacity for 10 minutes
for contaminant Cd2+ and 11 minutes for coffee contaminant. Obtained by foam
height 1x cmc, 2x cmc, and 3x cmc with influence of Cd2+ with concentration 50
ppm equal to 8,3; 8.4 and 8.8 cm while for coffee contaminants with a
concentration of 10 ppm of 4; 4.2 and 4.3 cm. Foam stability analysis results
obtained stable foam (foam height in measuring glass does not change anymore)
at 25 minutes.
