Pengaruh Dukungan Keluarga terhadap Pemberian ASI Eksklusif pada Ibu Bekerja di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Tapaktuan Tahun 2010

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is very important for the babies' health and their bodies' resistance because it contained high nutrients which were needed for the growth and development of nerves and brain, for the immunity from various illness, and for creative emotional ties between mothers and their babies. The coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia was generally low: 14 out of 80 percent of being targeted. The same went to the working area of the Tapaktuan Health Center, which was only 20.6 percent. The main reason for the problem of the coverage of the exclusive breastfeeding was the limitation of time on giving exclusive breastfeeding , due to the limited working hours and the lack of family support. This research was a survey with explanatory type. The aim of the research was to analyze the influence of the family support on giving exclusive breastfeeding by working mothers at the working area of the Tapaktuan Health Center. The data were gathered by using the primary data with interviews, based on the questionnaires and the secondary data at the Health Centers and Health Services in Aceh Selatan District. The data were analyzed by using the logistic regression on the level of 95 percent. The result of the research showed that 66.7 percent of the working mothers did not give exclusive breastfeeding at the working area of the Tapaktuan Health Center. The result of the logistic regression test showed that the variables of evaluation support (p=0.000) and emotional support (p=0.000) had significant influence on giving the exclusive breastfeeding by the working mothers at the working area of the Tapaktuan Health Center. It is recommended to the government of Aceh Selatan District through the Aceh Selatan District Health Office in order to enhance health promotion strategies by placing banners and leaflets and to Tapaktuan Health Center to improve health promotion to the family at the time of the ANC about the way inflush breastfeeding working mothers and mothers always listen to complaints and provide solutions impact.
