Synthesis of O-glucosyl-tri-n-amyl citrate has been done through acetalization of tri-n-amyl citrate and glucose using p-TSA as catalyst under reflux condition in benzene giving 12.7 percent of yield. The tri-n-amyl citrate compound was synthesized from citric acid and n-amyl alcohol in benzene as solvent using H2S04 as catalyst under reflux condition to give yield of 89.5%. The reaction products after subjected to column chromatography for purification step was, then, characterized by 1 H-NMR and FT-IR spectroscopic data. O-glucosyl-tri-n-amyl citrate compound has the CMC and HLB values 0.05% and 4.26, respectively.en_US
