The use of liquid smoke, the residu, and its distillate as coagulant for natural rubber originally from North Nias District have been researched. All coagulated rubber obtained by using the above coagulants have been analyzed follow the Standard Indonesia Rubber (SIR). Those results were compared to formic acid as a reference. The impurity, ash, and nitrogen content, and volatile, Mooney viscosity, and plasticity retention index (PRI) have been tested. The highest coagulation rate as well as the best quality of the rubber occurs by using destillate smoke liquid and the final product is nearly equal to the quality ofSIR-20.en_US
