| dc.description.abstract | This thesis is entitled "Folklore AnalysisBatu Maroppa Literary Sociology
Studies”. Folk talesBatu Maroppa specifically describes the life story of a pair of
siblings who had an affair in Tamba Dolok Village. These siblings have been
close since they were children and have often been advised by their parents, that
they cannot be closer than siblings. These siblings have parents who really care
about them, their parents always try to tell them that they are family and should
not be closer than siblings or have a love relationship. This story is a story owned
by the Toba Batak community in Tamba Dolok Village, Si Tio-Tio District, Samosir
Regency. This study aims to find the intrinsic elements and values of literary
sociology in folkloreBatu Maroppa. The method used in this study is a qualitative
descriptive method using field techniques. This study was analyzed using
structural theory and the theory of sociology of literature. The structural theory
includes the intrinsic elements of the storybat maroppa includes: theme, plot or
plot, background or setting, character or characterization, point of view, and moral
message or message. The values of the sociology of literature contained in this
story include: conflict, responsibility, mutual help, cooperation, loyalty, a sense of
