    Abstract
    This thesis research aims to describe the Role of the Toba Batak Language as a Character Shaper and Support for the 2013 Curriculum Learning at SD 173652 Tanjung Pasir Village, Parmaksian District, Toba Regency and Describe the factors that influence the role of the Toba Batak language as a character builder and support for learning the 2013 curriculum at SD 173652 Tanjung Pasir Village, Parmaksian District, Toba Regency. The theory used is the theory of cognitivism and constructivism theory. The method used in this thesis research is a combined qualitative-quantitative unbalanced mixed model (concurrent embedded design). The results obtained in this thesis research are: (1) There are 12 characters who have an important role in building the character of the students of SD 173652 Tanjung Pasir Village, 2 roles of the Toba Batak language were found as supporting learning for the 2013 curriculum used at SD 173652 Tanjung Pasir Village, (2) In this study, 2 factors were found that influenced the Toba Batak language so that it had a role in character formation and as a support for learning. The 2 factors were internal factors and external factors. External factors are divided into 3 namely internal psychological factors, internal factors of habits, internal factors of ideals and external factors are also divided into 3 namely family factors, environmental factors and school environment factors. All of the factors above have had an effect on giving the Toba Batak language a role as a form of karate and as a support for learning the 2013 curriculum at SD 173652 Tanjung Pasir Village, Parmaksian District, Toba Regency.
