Abstract

A marriage preasure is very properties is being held in husband-wife inbound Whitin a marriage bound, either the preasure brought into marriage or obtained following the marriage. In article 37 Regulation No. 1 of 1974 is noted that if marriage cut off in divorce, the jointly wealth is ruled relating with each law. The intend of each law is respectively religious law, traditional law, faith and other law. Thus, a traditional law in taking resolution a dispute particularly concerning marriage's wealth. Simalungun as one of the ethnic available Indonesia having its own traditional and to be a guideline in social life in other action/legal action. That circumstances then write would like to choose this title: "THE POSITION OF MARRIAGE PREASURE ON SIMALUNGUN TRADITIONAL PEOPLE TODAY". This study is conducted in Kelurahan Raya Kec. Raya Kab. Simalungun of North Sumatera. The sample is set up randomly sampling by taking 30 respondent of 1330 households on that kelurahan. Toward them is done directly interview on the questions list has been arranged. In order to obtain the information more complete, a special interview is conducted with some people figures namely called Partuha Maujana Simlungun. The analysis date by using an inductive and deductive methods. For completion, it is also conducted library research. This research show that in Simalungun traditional law for marriage wealth is being a very important case, and in order to obtain properties to be one of marriage's target beside obtaining generation. The marriage wealth in Simalungun traditional law to be very important for Houshold's need, for children's education as well as a foothold for child's and the generation for future. In generally the marriage is divided into parts, the dowdies covering a Panjaean preasure, Parpaikkat preasure, and tading-tadingan preasure, while jointly preasure is including a Ramotan riap preasure, is preasure which get husband-wife during married.
