Peranan Loss Adjuster dalam Industri Asuransi Kerugian (Studi pada Beberapa Perusahaan Loss Adjuster di Jakarta)

Abstract

Despite the rapid progress from time to time within the insurance business, a lot of complaints still be hard from the clients. An example of those complaints is the delay of claim payment by the loss insurance companies. In practice, the insurance companies depend on the loss adjuster before covering any loss. The professionalism of those loss adjusters is the deemed not line with responsibilities required. Considering this interesting fact, it is wort to evaluate the role of the loss adjuster in insurance company and the loss adjuster, and the constrains encountered by the loss adjuster in performing his or her task in the field. The research is a research on normative law, based on literature review and field observations. This research bears the character analytic descriptive. Primary data is collected by means of interview and disseminating questioners to the respondents (namely four loss adjuster companies and 20 clients and one loss insurance PT. Asuransi Jasindo), whereas secondary data is gained by means of analyzing relevant regulations, and the norms on loss insurance adjuster, the correspondence between the insurance company and the loss adjuster and the subject matter. The findings of this research indicated that those loss adjusters who are members of the Association of Indonesian Insurance Adjuster played an active role toward professionalism in carrying out an Ethic Code, namely Code of behavior and Guidance of the insurance adjuster in the field.
