Commodities of tubers include materials that had the potential for animal feed such as sweet potatoes and carrots. The purpose of this study was to test the tubers chopper for animal feed with carrot and sweet potato varieties used pulley diameters of 8 inches, 10 inches, and 12 inches, to get the tool performance values including: effective capacity of the tool, fuel consumption, the percentage of chopped material, the percentage of material that was not chopped, and the percentage of material left in the tubers chopper for animal feed, and perform an economic analysis of the tubers chopper for animal feed. This study used a factorial completely randomized design. Used pulley diameters of 8 inches, 10 inches, 12 inches, and used carrots and sweet potatoes. The parameters tested were the effective capacity of the tool, fuel consumption, percentage of chopped material, percentage of material that was not chopped, percentage of material left in the tool. In this study, the best percentage of chopped material was found in the D2P1 treatment with a pulley diameter of 10 inches using carrot material. The results showed that the effective capacity of the tool was 43,055 kg/hour, fuel consumption was 1,0337 l/hour, the percentage of chopped material was 45,875%, the percentage of material that was not chopped was 8,375%, the percentage of material left in the tool was 28,750%, percentage of missing material is 3,00%. The basic cost was Rp. 968.32/kg for the first year to the fifth year. The value of the Break Even Point (BEP) on the tool is 1.719.09 kg/year. The Net Present Value (NPV) of 4.5% was Rp. 66.335.775,6/year and the Net Present Value (NPV) of 6% was Rp. 59.344.800,48/year.
