Background. Heart failure is a progressive clinical syndrome with the highest case being heart failure with decreased ejection fraction. Hyponatremia is the most common electrolyte abnormality in hospitalized patients. The lower the sodium level in the blood, the greater the mortality in patients. Destination. To determine the prevalence of hyponatremia in heart failure patients with decreased ejection fraction from June to December 2021. Aim. To determine the prevalence of hyponatremia in heart failure patients with decreased ejection fraction from June to December 2021. Methods. The method used in this study is descriptive method with a cross sectional study design. Results. The results showed that the prevalence of hyponatremia in heart failure patients with a decreased ejection fraction for the period from June to December 2021 was 45.5%, which was dominated by male sex (86%) and the age group of 50-60 years (68%). Shortness of breath is the most common clinical symptom (98%), diabetes mellitus is the most common comorbid disease (70%). For the classification of heart failure based on the NYHA, most were in class III (42%). Conclusion. The prevalence of hyponatremia in heart failure patients with a decreased ejection fraction from June to December 2021 was quite common in HAM Hospital.
