Gambaran Faktor Risiko pada Pasien Stroke Iskemik di Rumah Sakit Umum Pusat Haji Adam Malik Tahun 2021

Background. Stroke is the main cause of mortality and long term disability throughout the world. Ischemic stroke is caused by thrombus or emboly leading to occlusion in brain’s artery. Stroke risk factors could affect patient’s outcome in ischemic stroke. Aim. The purpose of this study is to determine the correlation between stroke risk factors and the outcome of ischemic stroke patients admitted to RSUP Haji Adam Malik, Medan in 2021. Methods. This research is an observational analytic study with cross-sectional design. This study used total sampling method. The sample in this study was ischemic stroke patients which were applied at RSUP. H. Adam Malik Medan from January 2021 to December 2021. Data collected were secondary data from the patient's medical record. The analysis used in this study was univariate analysis and bivariate with chi-square Results. This study involved ischemic stroke patients which consisted of 46 males (58.2%) and 33 females (41.8%), with the age of elderly consisted of 34 persons (43%). There were 41 patients (51.9%) with diabetes mellitus history, 29 patients (36.7%) with high total cholesterol, 46 patients (58.2%) with low HDL, 25 patients (31,6%) with high trigliseride, 35 patients (44.3%) had heart disease and 22 patients (27.8%) with smoking history. The result of statistical analysis showed a significant correlation between age (p=0,002), diabetes mellitus (p=0,005), LDL (p=0,023), trigliserida (p=0,001), and heart disease (p=0,014), with outcome of ischemic stroke. Conclusion. There’s a correlation between age, diabetes mellitus history,LDL, trigliseride, and heart disease history with ischemic stroke fenomena.
