dc.description.abstract | Background. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) refers to a group of diseases that attack the heart and blood vessels. Cardiovascular disease is increasing every year and is the highest cause of death in Indonesia, especially in the productive age. Cardiovascular disease is a non-communicable disease that can be prevented. Prevention of cardiovascular disease includes lifestyle interventions, major risk interventions, and drug interventions. Objective. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge of cardiovascular patients about the prevention of cardiovascular disease in Haji Adam Malik General Hospital, Medan. Method. This research uses a descriptive observational method with a cross-sectional approach. This research population is cardiovascular patients at Integrated Cardiac Center Polyclinic, Haji Adam Malik General Hospital, Medan, and the sample was determined using a consecutive sampling technique. The data taken is primary data obtained directly from the research subjects using a research instrument by questionnaire. Result. The result showed that 60 respondents (85,7%) had a good level of knowledge, 10 respondents (14,3%) had sufficient knowledge, and none of the respondents had a lack of knowledge. Conclusion. Overall, the level of knowledge of cardiovascular patients about cardiovascular prevention is in a good category. | en_US |
