The criteria for patients who are in the ICU are critically ill patients with instability or organ system failure and have a relatively long length of stay (LOS) and require the help of devices such as ventilators. To improve the quality of medical care, the main goal in intensive care is to reduce LOS. Tracheostomy is one of the most commonly performed procedures in the intensive care unit.
