Background. Indonesia is one of the tropical countries in the world that is illuminated by the sun all year round. High sun exposure requires Indonesian people to be more concerned about skin protection. This is also supported by Indonesia's ultraviolet (UV) index which is classified as a very high hazard risk category, which is 8-10. One of the risk factors for melanoma is exposure to UV radiation. The results of genome sequencing confirmed that most mutations in melanoma are caused by UV radiation so melanoma can be prevented by reducing exposure to UV rays, one of them by using sunscreen. The use of sunscreen with SPF 15+ every day on a regular basis can reduce the risk of developing squamous cell carcinoma by 40% and reduce the risk of melanoma by 50%. Aim.
