Tingkat Pengetahuan dan Sikap Kebersihan Diri Siswi SMA Santo Thomas 1 Medan Kelas XI dalam Menjaga Kebersihan Organ Genitalia

Abstract

Background. The reproductive system is a genital organ in organisms that is responsible for sexual reproduction. The human reproductive system consists of external and internal parts. In women, most of the reproduction system are within the body. Ignorance about the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of the female area is one of the factors that affect health. Aim. The purpose of this study was to determine the level personal hygiene knowledge and attitudes of SMA Santo Thomas 1 Medan students in maintaining the cleanliness of their genital organs. Methods. This study is descriptive study with cross-sectional design. The sample of this study is Santo Thomas High School 1 Medan taken by consecutive sampling technique. The data used are primary data taken by distributing questionnaires to students. Results. From this study, obtained 39 students (48.8%) with sufficient knowledge 33 students (41.3%) who are well knowledgeable, and 8 students (10%) are still less knowledgeable. For attitude, there were 49 students (61.3%) with a good attitudes, and followed by a sufficient attitude of 31 students (38.8%). Conclusions. The level of knowledge of Santo Thomas High School 1 high school students is in the sufficient category and personal hygiene attitudes are in the good category.
