Background: Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint-related disease that often affects the elderly even in the middle age group as a result of injury or overuse of the joints. The prevalence of osteoarthritis increases with age. Although osteoarthritis often appears in the elderly and older people medium, osteoarthritis can be prevented early on, especially by maintaining a healthy pattern and lifestyle, also based on one's knowledge of osteoarthritis. Objective: To compare the level of knowledge about osteoarthritis between pre-clinical medical students and clinical medical students. Method: The method used in this study is descriptive analytic method with a cross sectional approach. The research was conducted by collecting data using an online questionnaire via Google form containing questions using the Guttman scale and then giving them to respondents with conditions that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria and using systematic sampling as the sampling method used. Results: The results showed that 244 people met the predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Based on the completed questionnaires, it was found that the level of knowledge about osteoarthritis of clinical medical students was in the good category as many as 76 people (62.3%), enough as many as 43 people (35.2%), and less as many as 3 people (2.5%). Meanwhile, there were 29 people (23.8%) in the good category of pre-clinical medical students, 72 people (59.0%) enough, and 21 people (17.2%) lacking. Obtained a p value of 0.000 using the chisquare test means that there is a significant difference in the comparison of the level of knowledge about osteoarthritis where clinical medical students have better knowledge than pre-clinical students. Conclusion: The majority of clinical medical students have better knowledge about osteoarthritis than pre-clinical medical students.en_US
