    Abstract
Bivalves are organisms of the Mollusca phylum which includes shellfish and can survive according to the physical and chemical conditions Bivalves are filter feeder animals and live by immersing themselves in a substrate in the form of mud or sand. This study aims to determine the diversity of bivalves and their relationship to physical and chemical parameters in the waters. This research was conducted at Mangrove Beach, Sei Nagalawan Village, North Sumatra Province in January 2022. The location for sampling bivalves by determining 3 stations that were drawn along 200 meters from the coastline vertically by forming a plot of 1x1 meter pipe placed horizontally. The value of bivalves diversity obtained was based on the results of the research at station I; II; and III is is 3.0; 2.1; and 1.9 with the three stations in the medium category. The relationship of physical, chemical, and plankton abundance parameters with bivalves diversity based on AKU at Mangrove Beach, Sei Nagalawan Village, was negatively correlated with brightness, pH, salinity, and plankton. Meanwhile, the waters of the Mangrove Coast of Sei Nagalawan Village have a positive correlation with temperature, current velocity, DO, nitrate, phosphate, C-Organic. AKU also show weak interpretations of temperature, brightness, and phosphates. Strong interpretation of current velocity and DO. Medium interpretation of nitrate and plankton. Very strong interpretation of salinity and C-organic and very weak interpretation of pH.
