dc.description.abstractBackground. Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) are transmitted infection through sexual contact that have many different causes and symptoms. STI is a reproductive and sexual health problem in the world. The incidence of STIs in Indonesia is in the high category and this is related to knowledge. Aim. This study aims to determine knowledge of SMA Negeri 20 Medan students about types of sexually transmitted infections. Method. The sampling technique used probability sampling technique with simple random sampling technique. This study used a cross-sectional descriptive method with univariate analysis techniques. The distribution of the questionnaire was carried out online via the google form. The research sample was 251 students of SMA Negeri 20 Medan. Results. The results showed that 38.6% of students had poor knowledge, 33.5% of students had moderate knowledge, and 27.9% of students had good knowledge. Conclusion. The knowledge of SMA Negeri 20 Medan students is in the poor category, so education is needed regarding this matter through school learning or counseling.en_US
