dc.description.abstractBackground. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women with the majority of cases being found in an advanced stage. Breast Self Examination (BSE) is a method to detect breast cancer that is advisable to be performed by all women starting at age 20, which is the average age of the female student. The implementation of BSE is influenced by knowledge and attitude. Aims. This study aims to see the level of knowledge and attitude of law female students at the University of North Sumatra regarding Self-Breast Examination (BSE) as early detection of breast cancer. Methods. This type of research is a descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional design using proportionated stratified random sampling technique. Primary data are collected using an online questionnaire given to the law female students class of 2019-2020 at the University of North Sumatra, then computerized processes and analysis. Results. The level of knowledge mostly 49 respondents (56,3%) had sufficient knowledge, 30 respondents (34,5%) had good knowledge, and 8 respondents (9,2%) had poor knowledge. The attitude mostly 56 respondents (64,4%) had very good attitudes, and 31 respondents (35,6%) had a good attitude. Conclusion. The level of knowledge of law female students at the University of North Sumatra regarding Self-Breast Examination (BSE) as early detection of breast cancer is sufficient. The attitude of law female students at the University of North Sumatra regarding Self-Breast Examination (BSE) as early detection of breast cancer is very good.en_US
