Biodegradable foam is a packaging that replaces styrofoam which is made from plants. The main ingredient in the making of biodegradable foam is starch with the addition of fiber and liquid to strengthen its structure. The starch is obtained from avocado seeds, the fiber came from dried cassava dregs, and the adhesive uses Polyvinyl Alcohol which was melted first. This study aims to obtain the characteristics of biodegradable foam which include tensile strength, density, water absorption, and biodegradation properties. This research method used a non-factorial completely randomized design (RAL) with five treatments. The results showed that the highest tensile strength value of biofoam was in the use of 3.5 g of starch and 0.5 g of dried cassava dregs, which was 0.4424 MPa. The highest water absorption capacity of biofoam was the use of 3.5 g of starch and 0.5 g of dried cassava dregs, which was 45.325%. The highest density of biofoam was in the use of 3.5 g of starch and 0.5 g of dried cassava dregs, which was 0.6407 g/cm3. The highest degradation of biofoam was in the use of 3.5 g of starch and 0.5 g of dried cassava dregs, which was 47.98%. This matter indicates that the higher the amount of starch will increase the tensile strength, the water absorption, the density, and biodegradation of biofoam film.en_US
