dc.description.abstract | Background. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease that affects the articular
cartilage, subchondral, bone, synovium, and joint capsule through the
pathophysiology of various factors. Cartilage degeneration is the main
pathological finding of osteoarthritis. Aim. This study aims to describe cases of
knee osteoarthritis at Haji Adam Malik Hospital in Medan in 2020-2021. Methods.
This research is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional design. This study used
the total sampling method by taking all members of the population as a sample.
Subjects in this study were knee osteoarthritis patients at RSUP. H. Adam Malik
Medan in 2020-2021. The data used is secondary data obtained from the patient's
medical records. The data analysis used is descriptive statistics. Results. This study
involved 83 patients with knee osteoarthritis consisting of 23 (27.7%) men and 60
(72.3%) women, with patients over the age of 45 years as many as 77 people
