Background. Glaucoma is the second cause of blindness after cataracts. The problem of blindness and visual impairment is a factor that affects the level of a person's quality of life, where the threat of blindness in the future can worsen the value of quality of life. Glaucoma is a disease of the eye that causes damage to the optic nerve, causing interference with some or all of the field of view, where this disorder is caused by high eyeball pressure on a person. Quality of Life is the result of an assessment of what happens to a person. The patient is related to physical health, psychological state, social life and perceptions of the things around him, the assessment of quality of life can also be an aspect in assessing the results of good or bad management of glaucoma patients. Aim. To determine the relationship between increased intraocular pressure with the value of the quality of life of patients with glaucoma at the Medan Baru Special Eye Hospital. Method. This study used a descriptive analytic type, with a cross-sectional design using a simple random sampling technique for glaucoma patients at the Medan Baru Special Eye Hospital. Collecting data in this study used a questionnaire. Result. Of the 60 research respondents, it was found that the value of quality of life obtained a good score (80%) and a bad score (20%). Meanwhile, the intraocular pressure of the same respondents was found to be normal (61.7%) and ocular hypertension (38.3%). For the Kendall tau-b test results, the relationship between intraocular pressure and quality of life founded there is a significant relationship p(0<0,05). Conclusion. Founded a relationship between increased intraocular pressure with quality of life.
