Pyrolysis is a combustion process without oxygen at high temperatures (400 -600 ). This study aims to examine how the temperature distribution occurs in the combustion chamber, how the temperature influences the yield of the liquid smoke produced and the characteristics of the ash produced by using palm oil solid waste biomass as fuel. This pyrolysis process using palm oil solid waste material with 3 treatments and 6 replications. The combustion temperature is obtained from a thermocouple connected to a data logger. From the graph of the average combustion temperature in the A1, A2 and A3 treatments above, it is obtained that the high temperature at the thermocouple point T2, T4, T8. The highest temperature for burning oil palm empty fruit bunches is 584.58 °C for 1 hour (60 minutes), the maximum temperature for burning oil palm shells is 601.72 °C for 30 minutes (0.5 hours), the maximum temperature for burning oil palm shells is 601.72 °C. burning palm fiber is 571.22 in 30 minutes (0.5 hours). The average yield of liquid smoke produced in this study was 1.07% of oi empty fruit bunches, 0.45% palm shells, and 0.65% fiber.
